There’s a rich history between these two clubs, resultiung in some absolutely BONE CRUNCHING encounters over the years. Weekend wrap-up vs Briars

Posted on: May 14th, 2012 by president No Comments

Last weekend the Lindfield Rugby Club travelled to Concord to take on Briars and what followed was a brilliant display of running rugby.

It was a tough start to the day for the sky blue and whites, with the Colties going down 12-36 before 4th Grade turned it around for Lindfield with a solid 14-7 victory, stamping themselves as title contenders. In 3rd Grade Lindfield fought valiantly against the competition front-runners before a few late tries blew the score out in Briars favour 7-31. 2nd Grade posted their first win of the season with a very solid 31-19 victory over Briars, with the sky blue and whites looking dangerous whenever the ball travelled wide. 1st Grade put on another performance of champagne rugby in the main game running out to a comfortable lead before a couple of sin bins let Briars back in the match. The Lindfield boys held strong through for a much deserved win 29-26.

Congratulations to all who played on the weekend, particularly the 1’s, 2’s and 4’s who came home with the points.  St Ives next weekend, so let’s make sure we all get down to training during the week to guarantee we blow our perennial arch-rivals off the park.
