Published August 22, 2012

It’s time for the Club House corner of Soldiers Memorial Oval to host another shindig… And if Ladies Day is anything to go by, then it’s going to be EPIIIIC!!!.

On Saturday August 25th, the Lindfield lads will be playing their last home game of the 2012 season against local rivals Forest, and the Old Soldiers are keen to go out with a BANG!

On ‘Back To Lindfield Day’ we like to give a little bit back to the community we represent on the footy field each week, and with activities for the kids, and champagne rugby on the menu for the adults it’s going to be a real spectacle.

We’ll also have the infamous spit pumping, as well as $20 drink passes for the ladies which will entitle them to unlimited wine and champagne throughout the day.

At the conclusion of 1st Grade, the party will roll into the club house for the last time this year as we drink the bar dry before we’re transported to Cabana Bar for the party via another memorable bus trip.

It’s going to be a great day and everyone is more than welcome so make sure you GET AMONGST IT…

Published August 15, 2012

This weekend the Lindfield lads are heading down south to take on Oatley in the last away game of the season… and it would be rude not to get a bus there…

THE LINDFIELD BUS TRIP is always a highlight of any rugby season, especially the return journey after you smash your opposition to oblivion belting out “alouette” to your hearts content. This Saturday the bus will be departing the club house at 8:45am and arriving back after 1st Grade where we will have the bar stocked and the Bledisloe Cup playing on the big screen, GET INVOLVED! For those of you who don’t know, Oatley is a hecticly long drive from Lindfield so make sure you get on the bus. If you’re keen to reserve a seat let your coaches know BEFORE training on Thursday night.

Aaaanyway, let’s get back to LADIES DAY! What an epic day on and off the field. A big thankyou to all those wonderful women who braved the wind and rain and turned up to make it the biggest Ladies Day of all time. Special thanks too to those who worked behind the scenes to make the day such a huge success…  Was a great day on the field too with the Colties (19-17) claiming a well deserved win and 1st Grade (75-14) posting it’s biggest victory in years. 4th Grade (10-10) shared the points, while 3rd Grade (7-40) and 2nd Grade (10-24) both fought valiantly in defeat.

Round Twelve vs Newport – Wet Weather Round

Published August 1, 2012

This weekend the Lindfield lads are heading up the beaches to take on Newport (to make up for the washed out match in round twelve).

You may recall the “washed-out” fixture just a month ago… the Lindfield army was rolling on strong and out of nowhere our games were pulled from under us due to “rain”. Well Lindfieldites, Newport can only hide for so long, and this weekend they’ll be taking on a Lindfield outfit full of confidence after some big wins against St Ives last weekend.

Rivalry round vs St Ives was a HUGE SUCCESS for the Old Soldiers, with 1sts (44-19), 2nds (27-5), and 4ths (59-7) all coming away with convinving bonus point wins. The mighty 3rds (5-59) and Colties (14-31) weren’t so lucky..

This week is a huge opportunity for Lindfield to climb further up the club championships, and with all grades playing the best champagne rugby Subbies Rugby has seen in some years, make sur eyou come on up to Newport and cheer on the Old Soldiaaaaaar!

Saturday match details are as follows:

Round Fifteen vs St Ives – Rivalry Round

Published July 25, 2012

The Game which makes all other games seem insignificant… LINDFIELD RUGBY CLUB vs ST IVES RUGBY CLUB… IS BACK!!!

Anyone who participated in this matchup earlier in 2012 will recall that there is absolutely no love lost between the mighty Lindfield Rugby Club and St Ives, and after flogging Briars across the Grades last weekend, there’s no better time to take on St Ives and remind them who’s the bowsss!!!

What an emphatic return we made to Soldiers Memorial Oval last week! 1st Grade (54-19), 2nd Grade (31-5) and 4th Grade (29-7) all had HUGE bonus point wins over their opponents putting on a classy display of champagne rugby all afternoon. The highlight of the day however belonged to 3rd Grade who played a clinical game of running rugby knocking off competition leaders Briars 22-12. The Colties were very unlucky going down 14-19 despite only having 14 men for most of the match.

The Lindfield lads are planning to pick-up where they left off last week and smash old rivals St Ives around the grounds again, so make sure you get up to Hassell Park in St Ives and witness what Lindfield Rugby Club is all about.

Saturday match details are as follows:

Where: Hassell Park, Mona Vale Rd, St Ives

Time: Colts 10:45am

4th Grade 12:00pm

3rd Grade 12:55pm
